traveling to Skiathos island
Skiathos Island is situated in the central Aegean sea along with Skopelos and Alonnisos islands to the east and collectively they are called the North Sporades Islands. To the south there is Evia island, and to the west is Pilion mountain and the city of Volos. Further north are Chalkidiki and the city of Thessaloniki.
Skiathos Airport gets very busy during the summer so it is usually quite easy to get a ticket on one of the charter flights, that run weekly from many of the airports throughout Europe. Should you wish to travel by this route then tickets can be located from sources such as: www.justtheflight.co.uk.
An alternative route, which sometimes can be more cost effective, is to fly to Skiathos Island from Athens. During the summer months smaller planes (Olympic airlines) leave Athens daily so this can be a good option for traveling. Olympic Airlines' timetable is accessible on their website although the summer schedule might not be available until after February. Another suggested source would be: www.airtickets.gr.
A further option is to travel through Greece to a village further north from Athens, Agios Konstantinos and then get the ferry or the hydrofoil to Skiathos Port (Skiathos town). This is usually a very pleasant trip and the majority of Greeks who visit Skiathos tend to choose this route. The journey from Athens Airport to Agios Konstantinos will take approximately 2-3 hours using the bus service, taxi or rented car. The onward sea journey using the hydrofoil takes 11/2 and 3 hours if using the ferry.
Should you wish to travel this way then please contact us a few days in advance to enable us to arrange all the bookings and supply you with all the details you may need after you reach Athens Airport.
Once you arrive at Skiathos Airport or Port the journey to Villa Melia is very short. You may wish to find your own way to Villa Melia with a rented car or we can arrange a taxi to pick you up (cost 10-15 ) and within 5 minutes you will reach Villa Melia. If you are renting a car please let us know and we will provide you with directions from the airport or port.

We take the privacy of your personal data very seriously and your personal information will be used only to process your booking. All personal data is encrypted and will be processed in a secure form. There is no reservation fee, you will simply pay for your stay at Villa Melia.

Prices depend on:
1) time of the year (low-high season),
2) early booking (there already is a 10% discount for bookings made till the end of March 2008),
3) dates of vacation - extra discount offered if dates fit better with other bookings
4) room preference
5) preferential room rate for previous guests
6) extra charge for extra beds or baby cots
There are no extra charges for WiFi internet connection, sun loungers or parking.
It is possible to arrange a price including breakfast and/or air-conditioning and/or physical therapy.
For any third party expenses such as taxi fees vehicle rental, ferry tickets etc, although we would be happy to arrange for you, we may need an additional deposit depending on your requirements. Once you reach Skiathos Island you deal directly with the appropriate local parties regarding the remainder of the payment.
Once you have sent us your travel details we can quote you a price for the duration of your stay. In order to finalize the booking we request 50% deposit of the final bill. We will inform you in detail on how to send your deposit (Visa - MasterCard credit cards are accepted).
Terms of cancellation:
If you cancel up to 30 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged from our side (except the bank's charges).
If you cancel within 30 days of date of arrival or fail to arrive your deposit is forfeited.
